Oh the woes of working in the maquila industry
As if my incessant giggling wasn’t enough.
I have cero privacy.
I need something to divert all my negative energy towards... si no, mi vida no tiene sentido.
I really could care less... but that doesn’t seem to be the case with the rest of the people here.
But hey, it’s been a year, and I’m still here bitches!
That is something that I learned early on in my working life. So I don’t let little things like that faze me... but I would love it, if could just shut the door and forget about them... instead, I have sit at my desk, right next to these two witches in business casual.
They are so not getting a Christmas card from me.

What the Blog?!
He sido un lazy blog user lately, I was just feeling a little unimpressed.
Enough of that though, nothing like a little quality weekend time to get you back in the groove of things.
So, allí me tienen, sentadita en la casa esperando que fulano y mengana me hablen para ver en donde fregados andan, when I thought to my self “girl, you need to get your but off this couch and tell those mofos to fuck off”... ya no esperé a nadie y mejor me fui al cine.

Shoot me now.
Bueno, yo siempre he dicho, there’s no accounting for taste.

Early morning office comentary

It's amazing what people will tell you after a year of working with them...

I can’t wait.

I've got posters on the wall...
No, I’m not lying in a ditch somewhere. I haven’t posted in a while, cause I haven’t felt like it.
Oh well.

Need a wedding dress?
So... you are getting married and you do what any thrift conscious buyer would do... look for a wedding dress on Ebay.
I mean, who doesn’t want to walk down the isle in a dress that was preciously worn by a big sweaty biker?
I know I do.

Listen to your Mom

Dije, bueno *maybe I’m just overreacting*. Lo seguí observando. Tight white hip hugger jeans ( I think they where stretch), two sizes too small black t-shirt, eyebrows plucked to no end and enough gell on his head to style the hair of a small African Country....

He did it again!... he strut his stuff over to the kitchen to get us our order, mientras yo le explicaba al Pelos lo que estaba haciendo este asno.

Again with the correcting. Ya iba a empezar a cagarle el palo, cuando me acorde de algo que me dijo mi mamá (she always seems to chime in at this type of situation):

Very true I though, but there is more truth to this, which my mother also told me:

*Don’t ever yell at a person that comes in direct contact with your food*

So, I kept my mouth shut. Mom always knows best.

El cocodrilo surfeador y otras historias increibles
Dang it! No he posteado en mucho tiempo. I’ve been busy with some pretty boring stuff: reparando el zapatito, arranging passports, decidiendo el asunto de la Roxy, etc.
Time is just starting to fly by, and I need to get my rear in gear.
I’ve been so stressed that I just decided to veg-out on friday, because I had to work on Saturday... verán, los fines de semana, cuando tengo tiempo y/o ganas trabajo con una compañía de banquetes to make some extra cash. I enjoy it.
Chelitas y buen chisme as usual. Me toco el world exclusive premiere del corrido titulado “La Jariosa”, by Mr. Adrian Robinson himself.
Luego al Badda Bing... where I saw the first ever germ conscious stripper (she wiped the pole down before climbing on it). I have to say that I was very impressed, compared to the first time I came here. Hubo mucho showmanship esta noche, I was very entertained; but it does get boring after a while, so we left not long after arriving. El único que salió realmente impactado fue el Ron Galubitz, who will forever now be known as “El AgaRon”.

-It’s true, I heard it on NPR

Well, excuse me.

I was robbed by a gay man
The loot is as follows: my stereo, the cd inside it... and OH THE HUMANITY!!... my makeup bag.
That bitch is not going to know the difference between a Tony & Tina Herbal Glitter Pencil and her ass.
Pero... on the bright side, the makeup buying ban has been lifted.

Assholes R US, how may I help you?
Tengo agruras.
Me la lleve tranquila, just hanging out at home, but when I spend too much time at home, alone, I get to thinking... So today. Monday I decided take the first step.....

Ash: Y que pedo “recepcionista”, que tal tu weekend?

Recepcionista: Insert incessant babble about her kid.

Ash: (pretending to be interested) Ah neta? Que chido.

Recepcionista: Y tu?

She went all psycho bitch on me. That’s what I get for sharing.

I demand service

Interrumpe el teenage manager from hell:

By this point I was ready to tear him a new asshole...

-¿Cómo que no es tu problema?!!! ¿Qué no trabajas aquí?!!!....

Shit... I mean, it was so unfuckingbelievable that I had to laugh. I laughed my ass off all the way to the car. What else could I do?

Me quedé con las ganas... and it’s too bad too, because this pint size mofo, was treating us like he was doing us a damn favor... y ese, es el pinche problema. I’ve got news for you, you pimple popping teenage managers of the world... you don’t need to do me any favors, you need to do YOUR FUCKING JOB.
Don’t give me any sass, no me pidas que te respete.

Is that to much to ask for?

We gonna sip Bacardi like it’s yo’ bithday
I just keep thinking: september, september... it will all be over in september.

Dressed to the nines of course. We thought it would be fun, since it was salsa night at the place, to dress up all girly, taconcito, maquillaje y todo. I mean, we were beyond ghetto fabulous... we were bughetto fabulous.

Nunca había ido, so I said, why not?

Because the bar is always open and the time is always right
If God’s good word goes unspoken, the music goes all night

Good times.
Got up late on saturday. Had a good breakfast, took a shower and got ready to do it all over again; pero ahora en Rosaro. Not as much fun.
Karaoke, Frogs, Papas. Pocho, hoochies.
It’s was like watching national geographic. I swear. The mating rituals of the urban baboon.
I have never seen to people so pissed off at each other. I mean, it happened right at my feet, so I had a pretty good view of the whole debacle. Tomo 2 cholos grandotes y tres guardias para separarlas. The Albino Bean was more stunned than impressed, but I can understand why some people like to see that; just the rawness of it all. One girl was pinned to the floor by the other one, who was pounding her with her fists. It was just a mess of hair, nails and limbs everywhere.
Oh the things that I saw at Papa’s and Beer. At about 4 am I decided to go home, wash my eyes out and go to bed.
All in all, I can say that I had a pretty good time, but I’m so damn tired.

(read with irish accent)

-Oh dear, the father accidentally blessed it (insert mother’s sneaky laugh)

Me la regresó... Accidental my ass. Me la puse de nuevo and I started screaming:

-mom! Mom! It burns... it burns!!!!

-get up off the floor you silly girl...

She smacked me one hard in the arm, and gave me that look where she wants to laugh, but she wont...
Dis one, is fo all da ladies out der.
Se que solo ustedes me entenderán... oh the wonder and hell one endures, just for being a woman...
Picture the Albino Bean, sitting quaintly at her desk, basking in the glow of the previous weekends shenanigans, when, all of a sudden, out of the blue she is overtaken with the unmistakable yet always present bitch factor... but this isn’t your normal bitch factor... this is the *if you play that lame ass Chayane CD one more fucking time, I’m going to jump up on your desk and gouge your eyes out with this rusty fork* bitchiness... Why so much aggression? At this point in our little story, not even she knows... that day, she picks fights with everyone in the office, for absolutely no reason other than she feels like being pissed off. She goes home in a cloud of disdain for her coworkers, but at the same time trying to rationalize what’s the matter... and then she gets it. She understands it all and feels ridiculously stereotypical: she was having female problems... the pre-menstrual kind.
She gets home, and like clockwork, feels the first cramp. Motherfucker!
What’s a girl to do? Put on the teapot, and bring on the sweat pants. She sat in her little apartment, with a cup of english tea with milk, legs curled up beneath her, muttering obscenities the whole evening, staring at the TV, but not really watching it. The next morning, the bitchiness is gone, but is replaced by more cramps, bloating and slight depression (...the kind that makes you cry when you watch sappy commercials for the phone company). Nothing fits and she feels like shit.
The next couple of days are the same, but are gradually reduced, until that fateful and lovely last day... that day when she has eyes for no one else in the world but her self. She’s gorgeous. She feels every single inch of her girlyness and fucking loves it!... She can do no wrong. No body else can, for that matter. Fluttery eyelashes, glossy lips, sparkly eyes, flowers in her hair.... and the she starts thinking *hey this chick stuff ain’t so bad after all*.
And just think... we only go through it once a month.

Camping is for tree hugging hippies
Estaba pensando contestar las cinco del viernes, but then I thought *nah*, I really didn’t like the questions this week. So now I’m stuck with nothing to post.
I just got back from a trip, I have no money, but I am in the process of planning the next one.
El año pasado fui con la Wera solo en domingo y nos arrepentimos de no habernos quedado en algún hotelito... let’s just say that the Albino Bean’s driving skills weren’t so sharp after a whole day in the sun, of drinkin’ and shmokin’.
That was my definition of happiness, at that precise moment. I also have to say that Thievery Corporation was utterly gorgeous... beyond description.
This year, I am looking forward too enjoying both days. I’m excited to see The Flaming Lips, Basement Jaxx, and Death Cab for Cutie... there are so many great bands playing this year. I can’t wait.
Apuntados seguros están Robi, la Wera, Martini and yours trully... but there’s always room for more.

I just don’t know what to do with myself
I’m so fucking bored today.
I have been doing nothing today... well not “nothing”.... ya mande a la verga a la mitad de la oficina, because they are a bunch of hypocritical ass wipes. El resto del día me he estado haciendo guey... and not even discreetly either.
Like right now: I’m drinking a 7up, chatting on both msn and yahoo, with like 6 people at a time, talking on the phone (not work related) and blogging... all while giving nasty looks to my coworkers. I’m a god damn valuable employee... how many people do you know that multifuckingtask like that?
Se me hace que lo que tengo es weekend withdrawal, but hey... it is thursday, so I should be back to my moderately bitchy self tomorrow... a parte, I have an appointment for a hair cut tomorrow, and that always gets the Albino Bean’s spirits up.

Black and blue
The best combination since peanut butter and jelly. Check it out!

The Albino Bean does San Francisco.
Where to start... How about at the beginning... después de mil llamadas e emails, el viaje ya estaba listo, Miss Aislinn would leave for San Francisco on friday the 26th at 8.45 pm from San Diego. Or so she thought. Verán, no viajaba sola.
Oh well. Beaners 1- Homeland Security 0.
We barely make it in time to board the plane. Once we had our seats and I has a beer in one hand and a good book in the other, I was fine.
For once, I was happy to be going to bed early on a friday night, after all that commotion I was a little tired. Llegamos a casa de Oliva, y yo caí rendida.
Next day we were up early, picked up Dave, a friend of Oliva’s, got some coffee and we were on our way to The City (that’s what the locals call it).
When we got there Oliva gave us a little driving mini tour of downtown. The first spot we actually hit after we parked was the Museum of Modern Art. And I thought *Oh great* (picture me rolling my eyes), but it was fucking fantastic. I’m so glad we went there. I fell in love with a painting by Kees van Dongen, called La Chemise Noire... la googlie, pero no salió nada.
After the museum we were hungry, so we stopped at a local tapas bar/brewery. Let the drinking commence!
Llegamos al hotel a registrarnos. There was free wine in the Lobby. More Drinking.
More drinking.
This is a very rad restaurant. Unfortunately, there was no food involved, only more drinking.
Who the hell knows.
Teníamos reservaciones, pero aun así había un espera como de 20 minutos... what to do? I know!... more drinking!
The food is a mixture of French Creole, African, Asian and Carribean cooking.
You guessed it! More drinking...
Este lugar, es un salón de belleza convertido en bar, so obviously the Albino Bean was in heaven, which is more than I can say for my dear friend Oliva, who was looking very green. We decided to call it a night, so we could get an early start the next day.... and we did, if by early start you mean mimosas and omelets in Sausalito. This time the drinking started at about 9 or 10 am.
El domingo lo dedicamos a hacer *all the touristy things*... Golden Gate, China Town, Little Italy, Haight-Ashbury, Union Sqaure, Pier 39, Cable Car rides, etc.
Dinner was at The Steps of Rome, where Oliva got to lick tiramissu of some Italian guy’s abs, as part of her birthday celebration. Talk about foreign hospitality.
Sunday was such a frikin’ great day, but by 11 pm I was beat.

Mellow Man Ace... more profound than we thought.
Post something! Anything! I haven’t even felt like flexing my pocha muscles that much either. Well, not till now that is.
I’ve been listening to 98.9 fm since they changed the format. It’s hip hop now, as opposed to the *rock en español* (read: crap) they played before; but the DJ’s speak in spanglish, and funny enough I found my self cringing at the sound of this. But rather than dismiss it completely, he decidido que el spanglish, no es para todos. Some people can pull it off, others can’t, and it also has to do with the person that you are convesating with.
When I speak with my mother, we flip back and forth between spanish and english, like it’s no big deal. My father has the same linguistic capabilities, but hates the mixing of both languages. It’s one or the other with him. Black and white, no gray areas. But he makes an exception for me, because I think he is too lazy to completely reprogram my speaking skills.
A la Run DMC... It’s like that, and that’s the way it is. So he’s basically learned to look past the spanglish and listen to what I have to say; and occasionally rolls his eyes when I say something like * hey pinchi gordo, pásame the tea pot no?*
I don’t really dissect the two different languages in my head when I receive the message. This is because I think in spanglish (like you hadn’t noticed). It's just part of the blessing/curse of being bilingual.
Now I don’t cringe when I hear the DJ say “...and that was The Digital Undergrown, con su Humpty Dance... yo! esa canción rifa... old school in the house”
Well.... maybe I cringe a little.

Roxy, the Pug from Outer Space.

If you see me coming, get out of the way
Soy medio cafre, so I don’t even use it, prefiero voltear.
He descuidado mucho el zapatito lately. No lo he lavado.

Damn you James Cameron!
Debería estar feliz porque es viernes and I have some things to look forward to this weekend; but I’m just down. I miss Roxy.
*I have problems*... but then again, it’s nothing a good talk with la Wera, or Martha or someone, over some beers natch, won’t fix.

Pionta Guinness, le do thoil.

Belfast, circa 1970
That's our cousin Michael (third from the left) displaying his lovely dancing skills.

Well children, it's St. Patrick's Day... St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland... he is said to have come to Ireland to convert the pagans to Christianity, but then again, it's also said that he drove all the snakes out of the Emerald Isle (maybe that's a metaphor, hmmmm...) but to you and me, it's just another excuse to be *three sheets to the wind* in the middle of the week, without having to explain yer'self.

I will share this little Irish toast with you, as I will later share it with friends and family...

Here's health and prosperity,
to you and all your posterity,
and them that doesn't drink with sincerity,
that they may be damned for all eternity!

Cheers... Sláinte.... Salud

Pick your Poison
El viernes me quede en mi casa. Salí muy cansada del trabajo. A parte quería practicar mi deporte favorito: beer watching.
What is beer watching you might ask? Well, it’s a team sport, but this friday I was flying solo, porque mis “amigos” me dejaron plantada. It consists of drinking beer, while watching TV... Not to toot my own horn or anything, but I’m one of the state’s top contenders.
My equipment of choice:

-A six pack of Pacifico’s.
-An ice-cold mug.
-Some chips
-Pajamas
-A copy of “Bend It Like Beckham”.

The evening started with Jeopardy!... I like to yell the answers at the TV. Mi hermano Yoyo, dice que esos programas apestan... they are made so the masses can feel smart, even though they watch TV... he’s just jealous because he can never remember to phrase the answer in the form of a question. After that it was “Roy Orbison & Friends -- A Black and White Night”. The first song was “Only the Lonely”... how appropriate, being that I was all by my lonesome this night.
After that I mastered the art of jumping from one show to another, without really watching any of them... I saw some chick try to distinguish who was gay, out of a group of very feminine looking men. Very sad. I saw a show about a girl that was told what to do by inanimate objects... also, some silly sitcom.
I though that was enough of a warm-up so I put the movie on. The movie was fun, nothing spectacular though. I love the way English people talk... that just means that I can watch any old crap English movie, and still love it, because of the accent. I know... but I can’t help it if I’m easily amused........ ooooh! something shiny and sparkly... hold on.
*
*
*
*
Ok I’m back.
Hice chores around the house and what not. Luego a Rosaro.
Rosarito estaba lleno de pochos este weekend... and not pochos like *yours truly*. I’m talking about the shaven head, east L.A. mofos that show up every spring break to sleep in their car, and pee in the street. Fortunately, I hung out with Lore... so no pochos in sight. Same old, same old... cervezas y buena plática....neta que siento que cada lunes posteo lo mismo... but I always have a good time so if it ain’t broke, then don’t fix it.

Couldn’t let that happen now could we?

Negrito: Aw no baby! You here alone?... ain’t that a shame
Ash: No, I’m waiting for someone.
Negrito: Well he better hurry up; I wouldn’t leave a sweet thang like you waitin’ for too long.

Watching the sun come up is a beautiful thing, I wish I could share it with all of you.

Wow, that was touchy feely moment huh?
Moving on... sunday, and I was surprisingly *not* hung over.

-who’s a good doggy?
-Roxy’s a good girl
-quien es mi gordita?

And yes, I did it in that annoying voice that people use when they talk to their pets... so?
After about 15 minutes of this torture... my mom, who was reading the paper, got up and said:

-Do you have to inflate that dog’s ego so much, you silly girl?

She stormed off, into the kitchen, rolling her eyes...
I love annoying my mom.

Cafiaspirinas y coca cola.
You can thank me later.

Approach with caution...
Crazy bitches!... like my dog isn’t just as cute as their damn kids... whatever.
Anyways... estoy planeando otra cenita como la de aquella vez, but I have no idea what to cook; I mean my cooking knowledge is very limited, but I’m not afraid to try new things... I will approach any recipe with the same blinding ignorance that I approach everything else.
Eso de andar haciendo cenitas para muchachitos peludos como que no es mi fuerte, pero en fin... eso pidió el nene, así que eso le daré... nunca me hubiera imaginado que estaría yo, con mandilito bien puesto *cooking for my man*, or any other man, for that matter... what the hell is happening to me?
I have become so damn domestic... next thing you know I’ll greet him at the door with a martini in one hand and his slippers in the other.... (Insert silent scream here).
Estoy exagerando un poco, pero me sorprende el comportamiento que he exhibido... could it be that The Albino Bean can experience actual *feelings*? I shudder at the thought, but it seems to be so; but I only think about saying anything to him and I revert back to my old insensitive and sarcastic self... what to do?
I hate this type of situation... digo, te la pasas bien, hay buena química... nada más no hables de lo que sientes porque ya lo hechas a perder.... If you are a chick, it’s almost impossible to have this type of relationship. Sooner or later you always start having feelings for the guy.
I’m confused. All I know, is that when I leave... I’m not going to be one of those chicks that’s miles away from home in a beautiful tropical place... pining over some jackass that’s back home. Nothing short of a marriage proposal by Johnny Depp is going to keep me here... and that ain’t happening anytime soon.
So I ask myself... why even bother with this guy, if that is the case... I’ll tell you why... because I’m crazy.
Always have been, and always will be; but I prefer the term *delightfully eccentric*...

Señor... señor!!! Le muevo el tag-board por 1 dollar!!!

"Aislinn, Aislinn!!! como pones fotos?"
"Como pones el mentado tracker?"

Así es... I know the answer to these and other questions, and for a nominal fee, I will share this knowledge with you...aunque también se aceptan Miller High Life's and little trinkets from my favourite store.
He ayudado a más de un amigo, con mi limitado conocimiento, a *acomodar* su blog y a ponerle pendejatidas... such as a tag-board, bloglinker y demás.
And today... I have helped... nay... guided another lost soul through the complicated yet subtle joy that is blogging... el Booger.
Yes, yes... now, even my little brother blogs... what is the world coming too?
Old people rock!
Estoy escuchando Rappers Delight... la Oldschoolera returns. Ya les advertí en la oficina, que si de por si soy grumpy, ahora que ya no tomo café, seré aun más grumpy y que si me quieren mantener contenta, me tienen que dejar escuchar Old School hits of the 70’s and 80’s todo el santo día. Nadie protestó... por lo que los quiero más que ayer y todo es felicidad.... you see, it takes very little to please the Albino Bean... and yes, the Albino Bean loves to talk about herself in the third person *a la Disco Stu*. So there!
Ok, on to the weekend recap...
Viernes al cumple del Rosadito, Nice times and good beer. Very good beer, actually; and lots of it too. Ms. Aislinn was a little tipsy on friday night. I mean... why mess with tradition?
It’s interesting sometimes, to change the scenery around you, so to speak... anyways, de allí a otro cumple, ahora del Foglio.
Sudando alcohol. Toda greñuda. Me veía realmente guapa y apetecible...
Happiness is chilaquiles at Lupita’s, without having to worry if it’s still breakfast time.
Al poco rato llego Edith y se puso a hacer milanesas, y yo hice la pasta acompañante, and a nice salad as well.
And it worked too... los planes originales eran de ir a Ensenada, but I was too hungover, and going to Ensenada is always a guaranteed good time, so I wasn’t sure I could handle another night like that.
It was a good party.
Instead, there were shandys (pa la cruda), and good humor from my mother. I helped her prepare dinner, by making my favourite salad, which is a spinach, bacon and egg salad, with my homemade vinaigrette. While I was cutting up the bacon my mom asked me... very loudly I might add:

“Aislinn... te pico el huevo?”

I stopped what I was doing and I looked over at her, and she was just looking at me with a huge smirk on her face. We both broke out in laughter.

The Friday Five
What was...

1. ...your first grade teacher's name?
I can't even remember, but it was a nun... you see the Albino Bean went to a Catholic School

2. ...your favorite Saturday morning cartoon?
I liked *The Tick*, but I loved *The Smurfs*

3. ...the name of your very first best friend?
Melissa Jaramillo, all though, she is Cisneros now. We used to ride around my back yard in my tricycle. I would peddle and she would sit in the little back seat thingy. I was 4 and she was 3.

4. ...your favorite breakfast cereal?
Cherios all the way, specially Honey Nut Cherios

5. ...your favorite thing to do after school?
While I waited for my ride home, I would go and buy a Popsicle from *el Pale*... this grumpy old guy who sold ice cream outside our school.

Is there such a thing as coffee drinkers anonymous?
He dejado de tomar café.
Instead, I drink tea. Earl Gray, Chai, Mint-Papaya, Irish Breakfast, English Royal Blend. I also picked up an interesting coffee substitute called Teeccino... it’s herbal coffee.
I was starting to develop a strange dependency on coffee. It wasn’t just one cup anymore; it had to be 4 or 5, so I decided I would try to see how hard it would be for me to leave it. It was surprisingly hard, but I had successfully kicked it for about 4 weeks.
Last saturday I fell off the wagon. I had a cup of coffee and I went nuts. My heart started beating faster. I was talking hurriedly. Laughing hysterically. My hands shook. My eyes shifted from side to side frantically. Then I though... maybe I should drink an espresso too... hmmm.
I can’t help myself; I’m addicted to that brown opiate.
All day and all night I dream of the rich array of bold and complex flavors that I could be treating myself too. French Roast, Colombian, Mocha Java, Espresso Roast, Sumatra or Komodo Dragon, which would be my downfall last saturday.
But alas, I have left that world behind.
I now reside in the understated yet lovely place that is moderated caffeine teas. I sip from my cup with my pinky finger stinking straight out, and I dare not think about my dark, yet richly bold past.

Oh the humanity!!!
Yes, it’s true... the Albino Bean would feel shame if she could, but... ayer me subí al zapatito azul y me fui a San Diego con mi Roomie, rumbo al concierto de...... Britney Spears. There! I said it... so what?
Anyways the tickets were free, we only had to pay the $10 dollar parking. I’ve never felt like such a beaner in all my life:

Ash: How much is parking?
Parking Attendant: 10 dollars
Ash: (extreme mexican accent) 10 dollars!! A la verga!!

I thought to my self *my car isn’t even worth 10 dollars*, but nevertheless, we paid.
We entered the Sports Arena and Kelis (milkshake song) was already on stage. If you are curious about what The Milkshake actually stands for, hit up urban dictionary; they have some pretty interesting definitions....
Walking through the hallways of the arena, it was like we were in the Twilight Zone. I’m still a little freaked out. It was like we were swimming in a sea of bizaro Britney and Paris clones. Short ones, tall ones, fat ones, etc... I mean there were raccoon eyes, spider lashes, half exposed nipples, ass cleavage... and it was everywhere you turned... it was in your face... I swear I saw one girl wearing my belt as a skirt, I kid you not...
We were looking for our seat, that actually turned out to be behind the stage, so we got upgraded to floor seats... all the way in the back, but still floor seats. We got to hear the end of Kelis’ set, and then we waited for maybe half an hour before they turned out the lights.
I have to say, the crowd was not what I expected it to be. I was expecting a bunch of little girls with their parents, what I got was a bunch of crazy-too-much-makeup-wearing-hoochie sorority girls and their boyfriends, of course. There was also a bunch of sistah’s if ya know what I mean.
The show started and well... I can confidently say that there was no actual singing involved, but it was a very elaborate show with lots of costume changes, each more whory than the previous one. It was kind of like a sluty Cirque du Soleil, with lots of boy on boy gyrating. It was pretty fun. Granted, there where some moments where I kept saying to myself *what the hell am I doing here?!!*; but hey it was free!.... y sí... cuando canto la de Slave, si baile poquito, jejeje.
I’m kinda glad there wasn’t a bunch of little kids in the audience, because the show is in no way intended for children. It was kind of like an updated version of Madonna’s Blond Ambition Tour, complete with a *rolling around in a bed with a sweaty dancer* part, in the middle of the show. During that number the big screen in the back of the stage had like a bunch of shadows gettin’ it on. It was pretty hot. That Britney... she’s turning out to be quite the dirty little skank. But I still like Christina more.
When I got home, I put on my Marvin Gaye CD, to wash away all the crappy music, and drifted off to sleep remembering monday night with a big grin on my face. Distant Lover indeed.

lunes, marzo 01, 2004

Should I even talk about the Oscar’s... I mean, like nobody watched it. I’m just mad because Master and Commander only got one, and it went to that dirty old man. But hey, on the bright side, I can now say that I was part of the crew of an Oscar Winning Film, so take that bitches!
I’d have to say that the best part was Billy Cristal and Robin Williams posing as the newlywed gay couple... that and that guy who thanked his beautiful boyfriend. Gay people are a force to be reckoned with and should have the same rights as everyone else.
Dos intentos fallidos de ver “La Pasión”... it was sold out.
Me fuí a Rosarito, broke y enojada.
Me tome unas chelillas por aquí y por allá, nada interesante. Vi al Pelos... thought about it, but moved on...
I should have just stayed home with Roxy and watched Saturday Night Live...
Stayed at my parents house and that always means getting up early on a sunday to get your good old dose of guilt, but hey, I’m used to it, so it just rolls right off.

“ So, you go to Orlando for a year... and then what are you going to do?”
“You are 25 Aislinn, time is passing and you aren’t DOING anything”
“How is your job coming along?”
“ You need to get organized”
“¿Ya fuiste a ver lo del infonavit?”

What?!... I mean, I don’t even try to answer anymore. It seems to me no matter what you do, parents are never pleased, so why even try. I’m just going to do what I have always done: whatever the hell I want to... hey, it works for me.
I know the idea of me being out of my parents immediate reach, scares the shit out of them. It scares me a little to, to be away from my family for so long... but I’m going to get over it. I have to.
This, what I’m experiencing now, while it’s very comfortable, well, it isn’t life... not that working for Disney will be very close to reality either, but it will be one more thing I can add to my experience box. Who knows... I might not ever come back... then you sukas’ are really gonna miss me... no one around to tell you that you suck big fat floppy donky dick... or to *affectionately* kick you in the ass... but hey, I’m going to miss you guys too, even Booger... yes, even you...
But you can come visit... así que empiecen a ahorrar sus centavitos.

Bit O' the Irish Humor
"Bless me Father, for I have sinned. I have been with a loose woman.
The priest asks, "Is that you, little Tommy Shaughnessy?"
"Yes, Father, it is."
"And who was the woman you were with?"
"Sure I can't be tellin' you, Father, I don't want to ruin her reputation."
"Well, Tommy, I'm sure to find out sooner or later, so you may as well Tell me now. Was it Brenda O'Malley?"
"I cannot say."
"Was it Patricia Kelly?"
"I'll never tell."
"Was it Liz Shannon?"
"I'm sorry, but I'll not name her."
"Was it Cathy Morgan?"
"My lips are sealed."
"Was it Fiona McDonald, then?"
"Please, Father, I cannot tell you."
The priest sighs in frustration. "You're a steadfast lad, Tommy Shaughnessy, and I admire that, but you've sinned and you must atone. You cannot attend church for three months. Be off with you now."
Tommy walks back to his pew. His friend Sean slides over the whispers,"What'd you get?"
"Three month's vacation and five good leads", says Tommy.
Save me Jebus!!!
Mientras escribo esto están pasando “Good Vibrations” de los Beach Boys en el radio, which is great cause’ that’s the way I feel today despite the gloomy weather.
I foresee a very relaxing weekend ahead. Mañana llevaré a mi madre a las aguas termales. A little mother daughter bonding is in order.
I’m free on saturday night

Yet annother internet quiz
These are the results that I got when I took Thespark.com's personality test:
PERFORMER
(Dominant Extrovert Abstract Feeler )

Like just 6% of the population you are a PERFORMER (DEAF)--personable, self-assured, and excellent under pressure. You are extroverted and strong-willed, which, in combination means you are good with people and aren't willing to let opportunity pass you by. Congratulations. I'm sure all the peons you've stepped on never saw it coming and didn't feel a thing.

You like being naked.

Anyhow, you have formidable creative talents, and you often following what your heart tells you instead of your logical mind. Your exuberance can earn you many friends and admirers, despite your ambition, or it can intimidate the less confident into keeping their distance. It's also possible you're Madonna.

hmmmm... ya think?
Don’t go to Ranchero.... ok?
So much fun, and if you must know, los Técnicos fueron los triunfadores de la noche.
Because, all the boys that were left where gay, except for Mario.
Me imaginé degenere total, but sadly, era bastante tranquilo. All in all, it was a great time.
The music was a disaster, but a fun one.
Yes.... right. I love you, don’t ever change.
Just plain nasty stuff.

Friday, friday, friday. I know why.... it’s because this crappy ass job is sucking the life out of me through my eye sockets!!!
Glorious will be the day, when I tell them to shove it!... which will be soon, very soon.
Las cinco del viernes
1)Si pudieras viajar 7 años hacia el pasado ¿Qué advertencia te darías a tí mismo(a)?
Nothing good can come from a guy named Tad.
2)Define tu vida en solo 3 palabras.
So little time.
My make up box.... jejeje no es cierto. That’s what I would take with me. The rest is all just crap that I can replace.
Quedarme muda. Sería peor que la muerte.

Baby girl, you’re the shit... that makes you my equivalent
Ash: What can I say? I’m an alcoholic.
Rob: Not an anonymous one.

Not too bad.
Thank the Lord. I picked this up on an expedition to the slums of Tiajuana”.
Lots of old friends talking about even older times.

Lo dedicaría a mi, cause I’m selfish bitch. I would sleep. Si no esta disponible el Sexy Ugly, pos entonces a ver movies or some good old day time TV.
I was really fucking proud of my self.
Me tiro un pedo, porque me hace recordar, that in the end, we are all the same, everyone has to fart.

Listenin' to Cio Cio San, Fall in love all over again...

Oh my God, Oh my God, it's finnally here... fui a visitar la pagina de =w=, y me encontré con esto... The DVD is in the final stages y a mi se me cayeron los chones. There is so much live stuff on this new DVD that I can't even stand it!!. The release isn't set til 3/23, so I will just have to make due with Edith's Bon Jovi dvd till then.
After this I'm expecting the 10th anniversary edition of The Blue Album, which should also include a bunch of previously unreleased B-sides; and also a new album that should prove not to be as crapy as Maladroit. One can only hope.
It's a good day to be an obsesive =w= fan.
Got some time on your hands?
Apparently this person does. One of the best blogs I've read lately.
What you talkin' bout Willis?...

The other night that I was watching some TV with my roommate, I felt like I was watching one of those spoof commercials on The Simpson’s, for a wacky new TV show on Fox. I almost had to slap myself when I realized it was a real commercial, for yet another reality show. Mind you, the commercial aired during My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiancée, so I can’t honestly say that I was all that surprised.
The show is called The Littlest Groom, and the theme music in the commercials is appropriately enough: “Mr. Big Stuff”.
I’m not exactly sure of the details, all I know is that it’s a reality show where a “little person” tries to find love, on national television. Before him are bunch of beautiful midget women, but the twist is, that there will also be some “full sized” women tossed in the mix. All we need now is for Gary Coleman to host. Now that would be some quality TV!!

Much ado about nothing
We are going through her first *heat*. My little girl is all grown up. Y yo... me derretí. Ah como seré güey.

Aislinn prays in the Church that Funk built
*why are you such a nosy bitch?*... jeje, not true. I don’t know why so much spanglish, debe ser porque soy demasiado floja para forzarme a pensar en un solo idioma. This is the way the sentences are put together in my head. Much to the horror or my father (es muy “correcto” el señor, en cuanto al lenguaje), this is also the way my mother speaks. So bear with me, I will try to maybe fix it, pero no prometo nada. On to the weekend...
El trabajo me trae de cabeza últimamente, pero que le vamos a hacer, there’s no denying, that you need to have the skills to pay the bills, and I gots a whole lotta bills. Saturday me levanté con toda la energía del mundo and then some. I sat in that hot, steamy room, alone, without a care in the world. I was so relaxed that at one point I extended my towel on the bench and laid down with my legs dancing in the air… singing at the top of my lungs. The tune of choice, you might ask? “Young hearts, run free” by Candi Staton. Hung out with Lore and Louie and drank champagne... well, more like the champagne of beers. Very mellow, but fun as always. Ron was there. We bust his balls a lot, but he’s ok. La sed era cabrona, so I decided to go downstairs for a drink of water, but I stopped dead in my tracks.
They sucked, but then again, they always do. The teleprompter dialog was strange, at best. I don’t know who the hell writes that stuff, but they should seriously get their head examined; but I have to say all the crap I endured was worth it just to take in the religious experience that was OutKast, George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, Earth, Wind & Fire, and Robert Randolph & the Family Band. All accompanied by the wisdom of the Rev. Samuel L Jackson... I would definitely pray in that church

Remember the L5 Incident?

Dear Aislinn,

I just read your letter in La Prensa. I too am shocked. I never heard back from you regarding my detailed response nor did you mention it in your letter. I'm sorry that my explanation was not acceptable, but I feel that at least it deserves an honest and frank discussion. Although your letter may hurt our business, I once again assure you that as a Family Company, we have never sanctioned any discrimination. I truly believe that we have one of the most diverse Team of employees in all of California. Whether it be differences of race, religion, nationality or sexual orientation, in over 20 years we have never tolerated discrimination. We have over 700 employees and regardless of their prejudices or bias, I do not believe that ONE of them will tell you that we would sanction inappropriate behavior of any form. Our restaurants and clubs serve 1000s of Guests every week. We have done so for more than 20 years and daily we serve Guests from Mexico, Japan, Russia, Iraq, Iran, Canada and almost every other Country. We have never been accused of treating people like second-class customers. My sister-in law is from Ensenada, she would be happy to explain our Family values to you.

Aislinn, my wife and I are Jewish and we have felt the pain of discrimination, hate and bigotry. I understand stereotyping and know that it is real. From this I have learned that it is not ethical or moral to judge an entire group based on the actions of one. If our security guard shocked and offended you and your friends, once again, I apologize from the bottom of my heart. I did my best to explain our ID policy and the laws we abide by. I do not feel that it is right to stereotype an entire company and impact the livelihood of a Family and over 700 employees over the actions of one.

I look forward to hearing from you and would be pleased to meet you in person to continue this discussion. I'm sorry if I sound angry, but as you've inferred, it hurts to be treated unfairly.

Most Sincerely,
David Cohn

A cabron? Letter in La Prensa? Clik on this link and scroll down.

Hmmmm. I wonder why?
I only watch it for the commercials
Blah… that’s the word that I would use to describe the events at Cecut on Friday night. Of course, everybody and their dog were there, but it still sucked.
Luego al Turístico, which was a little boring. Demasiada gente, poco espacio. Then he said the magic words: Fiesta en Rosarito.
Saturday night was no exception. Después de 15 minutos de verbo, el chota se dio cuenta that there was no fucking way I was giving him some money, and he let me go. I’m a lucky bitch, I know.
El sábado fue salon day for the girls, as in me and Roxy. Miss Aislinn was hosting a wee, intimate dinner party.
Los invitados: Edith (mi roomie), su novio Dante, and… you guessed it, el Pelos.
On the menu: Rib Eye steaks, with sautéed mushrooms in a cabernet sauce, mashed potatoes, and a lovely salad, served with a very nice Merlot and ice cream for dessert.
Who the hell knew I could cook? Not me, that’s for fukin’ sure.
Domingo familiar as usual. Shandy’s with my mother, good gossip and a lonely boobie on the superbowl.
